What is a minimally invasive surgery?
Many of the surgeries our general surgeons perform are advanced
laparoscopic surgeries, also known as minimally invasive surgeries. They involve small incisions
and reduce the risk of infections. Minimally invasive surgeries put less
strain on the body and allow patients to recover faster.
What is a robotic assisted surgery?
Our general surgeons also use the da Vinci ® Surgical System for
robotic assisted surgery, which takes minimally invasive surgery to the next level. Your surgeon
will talk with you about what surgical options are best for you.
St. Luke’s does not require a referral for this service. To see if
your insurance company requires one, call the number on your card.
