Robotic Assisted Surgery

For precise and minimally invasive procedures

The surgical team at St. Luke’s is here to help you address any issues you may be having and recover quickly.

What is robotic assisted surgery?
Using the da Vinci ® Surgical System*, St. Luke’s surgeons can perform highly intricate, minimally invasive procedures. The robot’s magnified, 3D perspective enhances precision, flexibility and control. In addition, St. Luke's surgeons use the da Vinci ® simulator, a training tool that uses operative scenarios, to improve their dexterity and skills.

What are the benefits?
This surgical technique means less post-operative pain, fewer complications, decreased blood loss and shorter recovery periods.

What kinds of surgery can be done this way?
Many issues can be addressed with robotic-assisted surgery, including:

  • Gynecologic surgery
  • Complex hysterectomies
  • Bladder and prostate surgery
  • Kidney surgery
  • Complex hernia repair
  • And more

Your surgeon will let you know if you are a candidate for robotic assisted surgery during your surgical consult. St. Luke’s expert team of general surgeons and physician assistants offer surgical consults at these locations.
