Rhonda, Health Unit Coordinator, Birthing Center

Posted On:

“I love watching families grow,” said Rhonda, Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at St. Luke’s Birthing Center. “I get to see moms as they deliver their first and second child, sometimes even their third or more, here. Birth is such a special time in people’s lives. I love getting to be part of their stories.”

As a HUC, Rhonda wears many hats. “I do a lot of coordinating, making sure everyone has what they need and is going where they need to go. I also admit patients, answer the phones and write out birth certificates, just to name a few things. I can certainly say I’m never bored!”

Rhonda has worked at St. Luke’s for 22 years. This gives her the unique opportunity to see many of the children she cared for years ago return to St. Luke’s all grown up. “Another HUC recently joined our team,” she said. “Turns out, I did her birth certificate when she was born at St. Luke’s! It’s really fun to see things come full circle like that.”

Thank you, Rhonda, for being a mainstay of St. Luke’s Birthing Center!
