Employee Highlight: Brenda

“I'm proud that across direct patient care disciplines at St Luke's, everyone always puts the patient above all else,” said Clinical Dietitian Brenda Schwerdt, RDN, LD, CNSC.

In the hospital, Brenda’s expertise in nutrition supports patients in critical care, oncology and neurology. In the clinic, her focus shifts to pediatrics, disordered eating and nutrition support.

Each day, Brenda meticulously assesses patients’ nutritional needs, formulates personalized plans, and educates patients, families and care teams. “I love the variety of patients, and the challenge of providing the best care to meet the wide variety of needs,” she said. “Every day is different.”

She also loves the size and scope of her workplace. “I love the smaller feel of St. Luke’s and being able to work and communicate with many disciplines, while still being part of a major medical center that’s always evolving to provide new and innovative care.”
