An electrophysiologist is a physician who specializes in treating problems with the heart’s rhythm. This includes issues like a slow heartbeat (bradycardia), fast heartbeat (tachycardia) and irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation or A-fib).

At St. Luke’s, electrophysiology services include:

• Cardiac ablation procedures
• Diagnostic Electrophysiology (EP) studies
• Implantable loop recorders
• Implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators
• Watchman™ implants
