What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that uses single-use sterile microneedle cartridge fine needles to create microscopic channels in the skin. This causes the body to produce new collagen and elastin, which helps to create smoother and tighter skin. This procedure requires no downtime and is minimally invasive. We do recommend that you wait to resume your normal routine until 24 hours after treatment. A series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best results.

How Microneedling Works

Before the procedure, your provider will apply a topical anesthetic to reduce the chances of any discomfort or pain. Then, using a device called a SkinPen, your provider will make microchannels in your skin. This process is what encourages your skin to respond by making collagen-rich tissue. Microneedling often benefits those with:

  • Uneven skin tones
  • Large pores
  • Stretch marks
  • Scars
  • Wrinkles and/or fine lines

After treatment, you may experience redness, itching, peeling or pinpoint bleeding. We offer booster serums that can be added to your SkinPen treatments to reduce redness and increase glow.
