Participate in COVID-19 Research

St. Luke’s is partnering with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to learn more about COVID-19, and is looking for study participants. Participation in the RECOVER Study will provide information to help limit the impact of this virus both locally and globally.

To be eligible, participants must:

  • Work 20+ hours per week as a Health Care Provider, First Responder or Frontline/Essential Worker (anyone who has to work outside their household) whose responsibilities require them to be within 3’ (about an arm’s length) of coworkers or members of the public
  • Have access to a phone with text messaging and internet capabilities

Participants do not have to be a St. Luke’s patient and there is no vaccination requirement. Both vaccinated and un-vaccinated participants are welcome.

Participants will be asked to:

  • Swab their own nose once weekly (only about an inch deep; participants will be informed if results are positive)
  • Complete weekly symptom assessments via text messaging
  • Provide blood samples periodically throughout the study

The purpose of this study is to learn the following about COVID-19:

  • How many people get sick
  • What symptoms are common
  • How long it takes to recover
  • How many people become infected with SARS-CoV-2 but do not become sick
  • How well people are protected after having the virus once
  • How the vaccine protects people from infection
