Aspirus St. Luke’s Earns Prestigious Certification as a Primary Plus Stroke Center
Aspirus St. Luke’s (ASL) is proud to announce its official designation as a Primary Plus Stroke Center by DNV, recognizing its ability to deliver advanced, timely and comprehensive care for a full spectrum of stroke-related medical needs.
According to the National Stroke Association, stroke is a leading cause of death and a leading cause of serious, long-term disability. Rapid and effective treatment can save lives and limit the extent of long-term damage.
“This certification shows our community we have both the resources and unwavering commitment to deliver the highest standard of stroke care,” said ASL Stroke Program Coordinator Diane Roach. “Providing timely, effective stroke treatment takes the right combination of equipment, expertise and training. Earning this certification is a meaningful validation of our dedication to this program—and in protecting the health and safety of our patients.”
The DNV Primary Plus Stroke Center Certification is based on standards set by the Brain Attack Coalition and American Stroke Association. It demonstrates that medical centers address the full spectrum of stroke care – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education – and establishes clear metrics to evaluate outcomes.
