Community and EMS Partnerships
Working together to respond faster
We work with our EMS partners from through out the region to develop and improve emergency response across the entire spectrum of care. Our work with EMS partners and the community is completely interconnected. Through education, case study presentations and follow-up after each case, we work to respond faster and better every time.
Introducing St. Luke’s brand new Emergency Department
Watch this virtual tour with St. Luke's Emergency Physician Dr. Christopher Delp to learn about the features that specifically apply to EMS personnel, and to get a sense of this brand new area.
At St. Luke's, we highly value the relationships we have with our local EMS teams. That's why we asked for their input when we set out to re-design our Emergency Department. Now that its finished, we're excited to share the new space. We look forward to working with all our EMS teams in our new ED and, as always, are extremely grateful for everything they do to help care for our patients.
Local EMS organizations
We depend on the skills, experience and dedication of first responders, paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement and EMS professionals who perform lifesaving interventions at the trauma scene and during transport.
We are members of the following regional EMS organizations:
- Lake Superior Regional Trauma Advisory Committee
- State Trauma Advisory Committee
- Northeast Regional Trauma Advisory Committee
- Upper Midwest Trauma Advisory Committee
National EMS programs and organizations
We are also active in national programs that require us to uphold benchmarks and report data on trauma cases so we can compare ourselves to other health systems and improve our performance. These programs also provide access to national data used to improve patient outcomes throughout the nation and develop innovative treatments and therapies.
