Position Description
St. Luke's is excited to offer a great opportunity for a BC/BE Pediatrician or Med/Peds provider to become part of our newly-established and growing Pediatric Hospitalist program. Join the group of St. Luke's inpatient pediatric team consisting of 5 Pediatric Hospitalists who self-proclaim to be the most fun department in the hospital!

Available FTE: 1.0

24/7 in-house pediatric hospitalist coverage. Fair and equitable distribution of night, weekend, and holiday coverage. No home call.

Coverage includes inpatient pediatrics, ED consultation, newborn nursery care, 34+ week level II nursery care, and as needed, newborn delivery attendance all within a single hospital setting.

You will see patients in a private, 8-bed Pediatric Unit with dedicated and proficient nursing staff who are cross- trained to manage newborns, children, and mothers providing nursing continuity.

Enjoy a brand new and bustling birthing center experiencing nearly 800 deliveries per year.

Work setting highlights include the lovely neighboring Lake Superior, a newly remodeled birthing center, brand new Emergency Department setting, current remodeling of the level II nursery with private family rooms and state of the art equipment updates.

Ample opportunities for interdepartmental collaboration with OBGYN, Surgery, Emergency Department, Primary Care Pediatrics, and Family Medicine. Pediatric Specialist consultation available through local and statewide partnerships including The University of Minnesota and Children’s Minnesota.

Additional opportunities to explore your interests in quality improvement, teaching, and community activism.

The physician will have opportunities to work with Family Medicine Residents and University of MN Medical Students.

NRP & PALS certification required.
