Stroke Rehab Program

Improving function and independence for stroke survivors

Recovering from a stroke can present a wide range of challenges. Our stroke rehab program is designed to help adults who are facing these challenges.

Our team comes alongside each stroke survivor and their family to find solutions to physical and emotional difficulties they may be facing.

This program is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization that focuses on ensuring the services you use meet your needs for quality and the best possible outcomes.

What types of stroke challenges can this program help with?

We can help with a wide range of stroke-related issues. These include:

  • Decreased ability to coordinate movement
  • Decreased ability to feel
  • Decreased balance/instability
  • Emotional disturbances
  • Loss of bowel and bladder function
  • Pain
  • Positioning
  • Problems understanding and using language
  • Problems with thinking and memory
  • Swallowing difficulty
  • Weakness

What does treatment look like?

Therapy is provided by a multidisciplinary team. Our team offers:

  • Activities of daily living training (bathing, grooming, eating, cooking, etc.)
  • Adaptive equipment assessments
  • Cognitive retraining (memory, problem solving, reasoning, etc.)
  • Community reentry and discharge planning
  • Care from a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS™)
  • Health management, including nutrition, skin, bowel and bladder problems, and self-medication administration
  • Mobility training
  • Psychological support for patient and family
  • Patient and family education
  • SaeboFlex, which assists with relearning to use the affected upper extremity
  • VitalStim®, which assists with relearning to swallow
