Professional Background
I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University. I spent nearly a decade working in various pediatric roles, including a position at Boston Children’s Hospital, where I helped transport and stabilize critically ill newborns. During my time in Boston, I also participated in several research projects within the Harvard network that contributed to today’s evidence-based care guidelines.
After stepping back from nursing to focus on raising my children, I pursued Montessori certification and taught early childhood education in Oklahoma City. A chance conversation at a concession stand in Duluth led me back to nursing—this time, as a clinical and classroom instructor at Lake Superior College. Teaching reignited my passion for evidence-based care and prompted me to pursue graduate studies. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Dakota and became a certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2024.
Philosophy of Care:
As a nurse, educator, and now an advanced practice provider, I’ve always valued critical thinking, curiosity, and compassion. My early experience in high-acuity pediatric settings shaped how I approach decision-making and patient care today. Whether I’m working with patients or teaching students, I believe in listening deeply—both to what is said and what is not—and adapting care plans accordingly.
To me, professionalism means pairing clinical expertise with respectful, clear communication. I strive to help patients understand how their symptoms connect to the bigger picture of their health, and I aim to create a care experience where individuals feel seen, respected, and empowered.
