Orthopedic surgery is a type of surgery that deals with bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Orthopedic surgeons perform procedures to fix problems like fractures to bones, torn tendons, or ruptured/ torn ligaments to help people feel better and move more easily.

At St. Luke’s, you’ll see an Orthopedics & Sports Medicine provider who specializes in non-surgical treatments first. If it is determined that you need surgery, you will be referred to an orthopedic surgeon.

What orthopedic surgeries are offered?

We offer both open and arthroscopic (minimally invasive) surgeries. They include:

  • Shoulder surgery: Total shoulder and reverse shoulder replacement (primary and revision)
  • Hip surgery: Hip replacement (primary and revision)
  • Knee surgery: Total knee replacement (primary and revision)
  • Foot and ankle surgery: ACL reconstruction, ankle, foot and Achilles tendon reconstruction, bunion and other toe corrections, foot and ankle arthritis surgery (including total ankle replacement)
