Biography

Do you have any board certifications? No, but I am a CIEE (Certified Industrial Ergonomic Evaluator)

What is your philosophy of care? I believe in giving patient’s target exercises to use as tools to treat their individual symptoms. I don’t think everyone needs to do a whole exercise program every day for the rest of their lives. I like to give patients the power to choose the right “tool” for the job.

What made you want to go into therapy? I had a knee injury myself in high school. My therapist was so upbeat and clearly loved his job. I shadowed him and found that I loved getting to make people feel better and get back to what they want to do.

Where did you go to undergraduate school? Central Lakes College (AA) in 2005 and The College of St. Scholastica (BA in Health Science) in 2008

Where did you go to graduate school? The College of St. Scholastica (Doctor of Physical Therapy) in 2010

What is your favorite advice to give patients? It’s YOUR body, YOU have to live in it for the rest of YOUR life. YOU are in charge of how it works and feels.

Where is your hometown? Fort Ripley, MN

What are your personal interests (what you enjoy doing outside of work, for recreation, etc.)? I love the outdoors, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing. I love adventures – trying new foods, going new places. I also love taking pictures, especially of our adventures and my daughter as she grows.

Other things you’d like patients to know about you: I have a lot of experience in many things, and I think I get along with everyone well. I grew up in a very small town, so I can drive a tractor, and change my own oil, but I also do a lot of crafts (photography, scrapbooking, sewing, etc) and can cook and bake too!
