Bridging Health Duluth (BHD) will host its free annual community event: Shaping a Healthier Community on Wednesday, October 26 at 10:30 am - 1 pm, at Clyde Iron Works, 2920 West Michigan Street, Duluth.

At the event, BHD will share the 2023-2025 Community Health Needs Assessment results. The findings were gathered from more than 400 community members through surveys, shared experiences and a virtual meeting. Attendees will also have the chance to shape the 2023-2025 Community Health Improvement Plan with emphasis on its four priority areas:

  • Food Insecurity
  • Housing
  • Mental and social well-being
  • Substance use

The event includes opportunities for attendees to connect with community members and organizations, learn about BHD’s work, and discuss community efforts to advance health equity for all. There will also be information for community members on how to get involved.

The event is supported by BHD’s steering committee organizations: Duluth Chapter of NAACP, Essentia Health, Generations Health Care Initiatives, Health Equity Northland, Lake Superior Community Health Center, National Rural Health Resource Center, St. Luke’s, St. Louis County Public Health, Wilderness Health and Zeitgeist. These groups have aligned their resources, skills, expertise and interests to collaborate towards a healthier Duluth.

The event is open to the public, but registration is required by Wednesday, October 19. Registration is available at BridgingHealthDuluth.org. Box lunches will be available at noon. Masks are required.
