Why Carol went into medicine
"I moved to Duluth to further my education. When I began at St. Luke’s, I only planned to stay for a year, but I have been here ever since. Although I has worked in many departments at St. Luke’s, I like cardiology the most. I love how much cardiology patients can do themselves to improve their health, and I enjoy building long-term relationships with my patients."
In her free time, Carol likes to cook and bake. Every year, she exhibits her baked goods at the State Fair. Carol also enjoys watching HGTV and baseball—the Twins are her favorite team. Carol enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and her Havanese dog.
Carol has been with St. Luke’s since 1977, and currently practices with St. Luke’s Cardiology Associates. Carol also holds a postmaster’s certificate in cardiovascular health and disease management. She is a fellow and member of the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association, and a member of the American College of Cardiology, the National Lipid Association, and the Northern Nurse Practitioner Association. Carol is also certified as a Clinical Lipid Specialist.
