Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

About This Event

The American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers throughout the United States. It teaches childcare providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

The course covers child/infant CPR, child AED, child/infant choking and pediatric first aid.

Upon successful completion of the course, including first aid, CPR, and AED skills tests, participants will receive a course completion eCard via email. The eCard is valid for 2 years.

The course is offered in a blended learning format, which consists of an online module and an in-person skills session. Students should plan for approximately 2.5 hours to complete the online work, and then up to 2 hours to complete the in-person skills session.

Registration steps:

Step 1: Go to https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartsaver-pediatric-first-aid-cpr-aed-online to purchase the online module of the course. There is a $20.00 registration fee.

Step 2: Register online for a Heartsaver Pediatric Blended First Aid CPR AED hands-on skills testing session at http://cmetracker.net/SLH/. There is a $60.00 registration fee.

Step 3: Complete the on-line portion of the class. The online session will take up to 2.5 hours to complete. You will receive a certificate of completion after passing the online portion of the course. You must print your certificate of completion and bring it to your scheduled class.

Step 4: Attend the Heartsaver Pediatric Blended First Aid CPR AED skills session – present your certificate of completion from the online module to the instructor. The in-person session will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees must be paid in advance of the class and prior to issuance of any course materials. Refunds, minus $20, may be issued for cancellations less than 48 hours prior to class. No refunds will be issued for non-attendance. Class size is limited. If the class is cancelled for any reason, St. Luke’s liability is limited to a full refund of registration fees only.
