Interventional Pain Management

Position Description

St. Luke's Hospital is seeking 1 fellowship-trained pain management physician, with a BC/BE in Anesthesiology and Pain, to join 2 other physicians in a newly established pain clinic.

  • This position is clinic-based only and does not require call.

  • Opportunity to help develop a pain program within the hospital system.

  • Position is open for new grads or physician with experience to start in 2020.

We provide pain management services designed to improve the quality of life and overall function of patients. Dr. Kathryn Thompson treats chronic, acute and cancer pain through a multimodal, comprehensive approach, including medication recommendations, interventional therapies, and referrals.

The clinic is consultative, and throughout the process, the primary care provider and Dr. Thompson work as a team with patients. Our goal is to include coordination of strategies that provide relief of pain, prevention of prolonged disability, and enhancement of quality of life. Less invasive options are considered first, and if deemed ineffective, more invasive pain management options may be considered. Once an effective management regimen is established, patients continue to work with their primary care physician.
