How to Volunteer

All potential St. Luke’s volunteers must first complete an application process. The applications are specific to our three volunteer categories: Juniors, age 14-18; Students, 18 or over who are enrolled in a post-secondary education program; and Adults, 18 and over.

After the applications are received, reference inquiries are sent out. For most volunteer positions, a state background study must be completed. Once the references are back, an interview with the Volunteer Services Director will be scheduled. If the applicant moves on to become a volunteer, a hospital orientation is scheduled and the volunteer receives training from experienced volunteers and the volunteer services staff.

Volunteers are required to have a tuberculosis screening. Adult volunteers are asked to commit to at least one year of service, students to one semester and juniors to a full summer program or for the entire school year.
