Dr. Mark Eginton, St. Luke's vascular surgeon.Chequamegon Clinic welcomes Dr. Mark Eginton, a vascular surgeon at St. Luke's Pavilion Surgical Associates, to the Ashland community. Dr. Eginton will offer initial and follow-up vascular surgery consultations as well as a variety of vascular services to patients in Ashland. Vascular services include the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins, peripheral vascular disease (hardening of the arteries), aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease, dialysis access, varicose veins and leg, and foot ulcers.

Dr. Eginton is a native of Minnesota and a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School. He was drawn to the specialty of vascular surgery because of its possibility to improve peoples' lives. "Many vascular health concerns go undiagnosed and untreated and have greater health concerns for the patient as time goes on. For instance, some adult patients have pain in their legs, and they attribute this feeling to 'getting older.' However, this could be a sign of vascular disease and be treated," Dr. Eginton said. "I look forward to seeing Ashland patients for treatment and follow-up in their own community."

As a vascular surgeon, Dr. Eginton often provides a clinical service that can span years rather than a one-time procedure, which results in strong and consistent relationships with his patients. "I enjoy the long-term relationships I develop with patients and it is gratifying to know I play a consistent role in my patients' health," he said. "I am looking forward to getting to know my Chequamegon patients and caring for them." He focuses on developing the best possible treatment plans for patients and is dedicated to doing what is best for patients and their families.

Dr. Eginton is available at the Chequamegon Clinic the first Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Eginton, please call 218.249.6050.
