What is orthopedics and sports medicine?

Our orthopedics and sports medicine team focuses on repairing any damage or injury to your musculoskeletal system. This system includes your bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. You don’t have to be an athlete to see one of our providers. We work with anyone experiencing musculoskeletal problems.

What are common treatments?

Treatment will vary depending on the issue. Treatments can include:

• Injection therapy
• Muscle retraining
• Surgery

What if I need surgery?

At St. Luke’s, you’ll see an Orthopedics & Sports Medicine provider who specializes in non-surgical treatments first. If it is determined that you need surgery, you will be referred to an orthopedic surgeon.

St. Luke’s does not require a referral for this service. To see if your insurance company requires one, call the number on your card.
