Infusion Therapy

Chemotherapy and more for cancer care

Infusion therapy is an important aspect in any fight against cancer. This is when medications are given intravenously (with a needle or catheter). St. Luke’s Regional Cancer Center is staffed by highly trained and compassionate infusion nurses working closely with oncologists, hematologists and radiologists.

Our Team and Services
All our infusion therapy nurses are registered nurses certified to give chemotherapy through the Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation. This certification process prepares them to safely administer chemotherapy and manage the acute side effects that may affect some.

Patients undergo treatment in a private, welcoming environment with comfortable recliners, WiFi access and television screens to provide the best experience as possible.

Infusion therapy services include:

  • Chemotherapy infusion
  • Blood transfusions
  • Immunotherapy
  • Oral chemotherapy
  • Intravesical instillations
  • Intravenous antiemetics
  • PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line insertions
  • Central venous access device management
  • Antibiotic therapy
  • Hydration therapy
