Mammography

Early detection saves lives

A mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breasts used to find breast cancers and tumors. Annual mammograms for women age 40 and older help detect breast cancer as early as possible, when treatments are more effective.

St. Luke’s now offers state-of-the-art 3D mammography at every location. A 3D mammogram takes 15 pictures of each breast, allowing for even earlier detection of problems.

3D mammography is available at the following St. Luke's locations:

Call any of the above clinics to schedule a mammogram.

Waiting for Results

Waiting for the results of a mammogram can be scary. However, abnormal findings are oftentimes not cancerous. If something abnormal is seen, you may be called back in for an MRI, ultrasound or biopsy to investigate further. St. Luke's is dedicated to providing a diagnosis as quickly as possible, so you can get back to your life.

Breast Health Throughout a Woman’s Life

Breast health is important throughout all the stages of a woman's life. Doing a self-exam once a month will help you know what's normal for your breasts. If you ever notice something out of the ordinary such as breast lumps, abnormal pain or nipple discharge, contact St. Luke's Comprehensive Breast Program at 218.249.2662.

St. Luke’s does not require a referral for this service. To see if your insurance company requires one, call the number on your card.
