Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery

Minimally invasive procedures for faster recovery

The surgical team at St. Luke’s is here to help you address any issues you may be having and recover quickly.

What is advanced laparoscopic surgery?
Advanced laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive way to perform surgeries. To do this, the surgeon will make a small incision in the body and insert a thin tube called a laparoscope. This laparoscope has a light and a camera attached so the surgeon can perform the surgery.

What are the benefits?
This surgical technique means less post-operative pain, fewer complications, decreased blood loss and shorter recovery periods.

What surgeries can be done this way?
Many surgeries can be performed laparoscopically, including:

  • Gynecologic surgeries
  • Appendectomies
  • Hernia repairs
  • Gall bladder surgeries
  • Urologic surgeries
  • Colorectal surgeries
  • And more

Your surgeon will let you know if you are a candidate for minimally invasive surgery during your surgical consult. St. Luke’s expert team of general surgeons and physician assistants offer surgical consults at these locations.
