ST. LUKE’S HUMAN RESOURCES ACCEPTS 2010 PREMIER PARTNER AWARD
St. Luke’s Human Resources recently accepted the 2010 Premier Partner Award from SFM, a worker’s compensation insurer. According to Robert Lund, SFM’s President and CEO, “We consider St. Luke’s to be an employer of exceptional accomplishment.” St. Luke’s is one of only five employers to receive the award from a pool of 13,000 employers.
The award recognizes outstanding performance in employee safety. According to Lund, St. Luke’s demonstrates a culture that inspires employees to embrace safety and a commitment to return-to-work practices.
The award was presented to Melanie Mesojedec and Shawn Burns, St. Luke’s Human Resources, and John Strange, St. Luke’s President and CEO, at a ceremony at St. Luke’s. Marla Halvorson, St. Luke’s Human Resources Director, says, “We are so pleased to receive this award. Melanie, Shawn and our entire HR staff work to ensure there is timely and accurate information about workplace injuries so that prevention measures can be put into place to reduce future injuries.”
St. Luke’s partners with Liscomb Hood Mason Agency, Duluth, and SFM in its worker’s compensation services. St. Luke’s successful leadership in the area of worker’s compensation will be highlighted in SFM’s quarterly magazine for policyholders to provide other employers insights into the exceptional ideas and practices St. Luke’s has put into action in this area.
