Driving Rehabilitation Program
Drive Rehabilitation is a program that focuses on all driving skills. Driving is more than steering, accelerating and breaking; it also includes the ability to transfer in and out of a vehicle and make safe decisions in traffic situations.
The program provides a pre-driving skills and a behind-the-wheel assessment. The pre-drive skills assessments evaluates vision, cognition and motor function. The behind-the-wheel assessment is provided by a St. Luke's Occupational Therapist who is a licensed driver evaluator.
In addition, training for adaptive equipment is included. Adaptive options include:
- Hand controls
- Steering devices
- Left foot gas pedals
- Blinker extenders
