Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

Health Care Professional Education

The American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers throughout the United States. It teaches childcare providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

The course covers child/infant CPR, child AED, child/infant choking and pediatric first aid.

Upon successful completion of the course, including first aid, CPR, and AED skills tests, participants will receive a course completion eCard via email. The eCard is valid for 2 years.

There are two options for completing the course, instructor-led or blended learning. Both options require an in-person session to complete skills practice and testing. The instructor-led course is a two-night class that is scheduled for 3 hours each night. The blended learning course will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete the online work, and then up to 2 hours to complete the in-person skills session.

Registration steps for Blended Learning option:

Step 1: Go to to purchase the online module of the course. There is a $20.00 registration fee.

Step 2: Register online for a Heartsaver Pediatric Blended First Aid/CPR/AED hands-on skills testing session at There is a $60.00 registration fee.

Step 3: Complete the on-line portion of the class. The online session will take up to 4.5 hours to complete. You will receive a certificate of completion after passing the online portion of the course. You must print your certificate of completion and bring it to your scheduled class.

Step 4: Attend Heartsaver Pediatric Blended First Aid/CPR/AED class – present your certificate of completion from the online module to the instructor. The in-person session will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees must be paid in advance of the class and prior to issuance of any course materials. Refunds, minus $20, may be issued for cancellations less than 48 hours prior to class. No refunds will be issued for non-attendance. Class size is limited. If the class is cancelled for any reason, St. Luke’s liability is limited to a full refund of registration fees only.
