Canal Park and a Bustling Shipping Industry
The city's harbor welcomes over 1,000 oceangoing and Great Lakes freighters annually. Watching these ships from around the world enter the harbor by passing underneath the Lift Bridge is a favorite tradition for many. Crowds often gather at Canal Park when a ship is schedule to come in to enjoy the experience together.
